2023 Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix | Yas Marina Circuit | Yas Island | 24 - 26 November

Will Max end the season with 19 wins or will we have a new winner at the last race of the season?

In the constructors standings, Ferrari (388) are 4 points behind Mercedes (392) and Aston Martin (273) are 11 points behind McLaren (284).

In the drivers standings, the top three are decided. Sainz and Alonso are tied on 200 points. Norris and Leclerc have 195 and 188 points respectively.

Hope these folks give us an exciting race.

A cracking lap from Leclerc at the end to give Ferrari the upper hand in the grid positions for the last race over Mercedes. Sainz meanwhile is starting 16th and would be on a totally different strategy. Really hope Ferrari end up 2nd in the Constructors unless their PLAN(S) don't go well. Also, Sainz starting so much behind isn't helping while Mercedes have their drivers in Top 11.

P4 is up for grabs tomorrow as P4, P5, P6 & P7 have a few point differences between them. Charles surely can finish ahead of Sainz if Sainz doesn't finish in points tomorrow.

The AI is certainly speeding up the process of deleting lap times of drivers exceeding the track limits. However it requires improvement. Nico Hulkenberg's first lap time in Q2 yesterday was deleted. The replay showed that not all 4 wheels were outside the white line. The F1 TV commentators called the AI 'naughty'.

I reckon it's Mercedes for P2. Things might have been different if Sainz finished in top 10. Even if Hamilton is starting at 11 their strategists will find a way to put him atleast in Top 6 whereas same cannot be said about Ferrari. Infact Leclerc might end up in P6/P7 given how they go about their plans. Hopefully the strategists will have good day rather than the drivers.

What the heck is Ferrari thinking by not pitting Carlos with only 3 laps remaining. They could have tried softs with some 10 laps and at least see if a 10th place and fastest lap possible

Edit : Ferrari what a jokers. Charles is thinking better strategies than the one’s with super computers

Exactly, absolutely baffling. They might have thought with Leclerc going good at one end Sainz might hold off 9 or 10th. That's the only explanation or else they might have forgotten about him. Also maybe if Sainz had been good in this race this single stop might have worked somehow. But fault lies with both of them. If he is clearly struggling be proactive and get him on softs and try for the points.

Single stop doesn’t work because he was on hards in both the stints. They had to stop again and they knew it from first stop itself.

Ferrari and its plans never fails to surprise me anymore. Stroll and Sainz were close throughout the race. Ferrari could(should) have pitted him when Stroll was pitted for the 2nd time as they were on the same tyres from the start. He could have well ended up closer to the P9 or P10 if they had just done that.

Agreed. I am genuinely believe they forgot about him until the last second
If not for Perez's stupid driving he would have ended up third and Ferrari might have ended up P2. Not sure why he resorts to dirty tricks in superior machine especially when he was clearly going to overtake Norris and was on track to comfortably overtake Russell.

Max Verstappen wins the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, 54th of his career. He surpasses Sebastian Vettel's tally of 53 career wins. This puts him 3rd in the all time list after Lewis Hamilton (103) and Michael Schumacher (91).

With 19 wins out of 23 races, he has the record of the highest win percentage in a season with 82.60%!

He has lead 1003 out of 1325 (75.70%) laps this season! Total dominance!

The RED team certainly has some folks who do not understand the meaning of winning, or strategy, or even race for that matter.

What a bunch of (word that might get me a 6 months penalty here) they are!
God, please put some sense in them!

Overall a good race for the 19 racers! Max is in a league of his own.

Tsunoda was the chosen DOTD!

That penalty for Perez was a bit too harsh.
10 place grid penalty in LA and 5 seconds penalty for Perez today was the FIA handing the 2nd place in the championship to Mercedes. Ferrari deserved the 2nd place (at least the drivers tried their best)

Poor Charles, did what he could do, but alas.

Excited for next year with Mclaren catching up with Redbull fast and Aston Martin getting their development right, its going to be amazing.
