For me sensors camera etc are not deal breakers. Im probably older than you so I still like to rely on the skill we developed when we learnt how to drive.
Sensors you can get aftermarket and even the TPMS. The TPMS is easy to install. I have one on my car and honestly it looks the same as the one Toyota gives. The sensors go in the wheel and a solar powered display is up on the dashboard. Its pretty accurate.

You're right. It isn't a deal breaker. A backup camera + side mirrors is all oldies like you and me need

Re: Maruti Invicto Review

Dropped into Nexa for my Vitara's regular service, SA told me that first service for Invicto after delivery is at 10k km oil change. He also mentioned that both 20 & 30k km service are free!

If this is the case, then Invicto has true free 3 services, not just 2 checkup and wash plus one oil change.

I checked with my sales executive and the service team, the first service is at 1,000km.

I took the delivery of my car on 18th and yesterday night while I was driving, I was still 24-25km away from home and the fuel gauge showed there's no range and I should refuel.

In all My Maruti cars, the range is replaced by low fuel sign when the range is less than 50kms.
And I have done comprehensive test of range in this "low fuel" state, it goes for around 40km in my Baleno and Ciaz.

But I did not wanna risk it in Invicto and being stranded in it could be a disaster it being an automatic and it was late at night.

I then got ultra smooth with the pedal and boy oh boy I travelled atleast 18-19km of that 25km distance to my home on EV mode.

The engine would turn on only at the inclines of flyover and the decline would charge the battery enough that it would reach the next incline on EV mode where again the Engine would power the incline.

I was really happy and amazed on how the range can be extended too much if one pays attention.

The one additional thing I used was cruise control at 40-45km/h

The traffic was at 50-60km/h while I was cruising on EV mode happily at 40-45.

I am really happy with my decision as it just feels I don't need to refuel often and the fact that I am getting a good mileage from such a big car makes me forget about any of the USPs of the competition. For me, they don't hold a candle to the Hycross-Invicto twins.

The Japs have a complete winner at their hands.

Looks like my SA skipped training

No doubt would pick the Hycross twins over other 7 seaters if budget permits! Overall a brilliant package.

Re: Maruti Invicto Review

Continuing my harp about the rear parking sensors. As of today the official Maruti accessories store shows the rear parking sensor available as a part for Invicto. But the dealer is refusing to install claiming it's not for Invicto. See this: https://www.marutisuzuki.com/genuine...o-accessories#Maruti Invicto Review-screenshot-20230901-2.44.46-pm.png

Dealer claims they have asked the Maruti accessories head and other executives who have said it cannot be installed. Don't want to install without dealer to avoid warranty issues. I have trouble believing all this because it's a generic accessory that is probably compatible with any car. The pessimist in me thinks that this is all a ploy to encourage sales of the Alpha+ variant.

Re: Maruti Invicto Review

I have been Big FAN of BMW, Driving BMW 3 series from past 11 years (Changed twice), wanted to add an MUV this year, So booked Innova Hycross VX. I was never interested in Moon Roof as it's not right fit for Indian circumstances so my choice was Hycross VX. Wondered it comes with only 2 Air bags. Even though my VX is ready for delivery I have chosen INVICTO. The only reason it has 6 Airbags.

I was been asked by many of friends why suzuki? Why can't Toyota.

I do agree that many think why someone should pay 32 lakhs for Suzuki Brand? But for me brand doesn't matter, but for sure Make matters. In Invicto you can see Toyota brand Every where. I don't think logo change will not degrade the Product Value.

Post delivery changed the front Grill to black color as I did not like too much Chrome. To my surprise even Suzuki logo is also made by Toyota. Check the Pics.

FYI, Hycross VX (in fact all variants) also comes with 6 airbags now.

I installed the rear parking sensors but would ask you to avoid it if not critical. I placed an order on the maruti accessories website. The dealer then called me to tell me that this is the same as Swift sensor. I was a bit surprised but since I thought it was critical for me I went ahead with the installation.

There were two issues:

1. This does not connect to the main display (i misunderstood when I saw with display). It has a old style small black additional display which is stuck to the dashboard which indicates the distances in metres. This is looks like an after market accessory.
2. The maruti team had messed up the installatiion and I started getting an SRS airbag error. They did not have the computer to fix it (they claim it is now through a computer program to identify the sensor which is causing the error). They took it to Maruti Chennai regional office and they finally fixed it. The car was with them for 3 days.

I have another problem from the beginning. The right side passenger roof light does not work. They tried to replace the whole set but looks like there is some problem with the wiring. So much for Toyota's build quality.

They told me that they might have to change the wiring for which they may have to touch the roof, I have for the time being decided to live without the bulb, will rethink as I do not want them to do any more internal work.

Please be wary of any accessories that invicto offers particularly electrical ones.

Oof! Thanks for posting. While I knew it was 100% an after market accessory, I wanted the warranty preserved. But now that I’ve heard your story I’m glad dealer refused.

Re: Maruti Invicto Review

Hi folks, I drove down to Bangalore's JC road and got some accessories installed. Here's the before and after.

Before

After

Main difference is that wheel arch cladding, the chrome handles and the window garnish. It's not the greatest quality fitting though. I guess you get what you pay for.

the price varies wildly depending on who you ask. Some are asking 5500, others 8000.

Re: Maruti Invicto Review

Is there any idea about Alpha+ variant's waiting time? My dealer says hardly one or two is allocated to them per month! I am looking at 6 months minimum waiting time.

I pre-booked on the first day, i.e., June 19th. I canceled my booking last week after the dealer confirmed a delivery date by mid-December. My Hycross ETA is February, so I thought I might as well wait two more months or just buy back my Prado from my cousin because I miss that mammoth.
