Can anyone or expert in the community answer the question - "Should 2021/22 XUV 700 users shift to Innova Hycross/Invicto for enhanced comfort, low NVH and long term reliability?"

I know that these are two different segment vehicles. But most of the people demand in-depth comparison between them and answers to their confusion as they are 7-seater vehicles and fall in near similar price brackets.

I do not think they fall under similar price brackets. The very top luxury pack costs only 33L, compared to high 36+ for the Invicto/Hycross for the decent trim with all goodies. Also, if you ask me, I do not see a reason for you to upgrade, as I see the XUV 700 as a driver's car, meanwhile the Hy/Invicto is meant to be driven smoothly and calmly. Hycross's waiting periods are madly high; right now, even the Invicto has started to have 8+ months of waiting period. Why don't you consider full body damping for the NVH? It will reduce up to an extent.
This MPV will offer a smoother ride and better fuel economy, but it can be a headache to manoeuvre through narrow roads It can fit 6 adults comfortably, or 7 if they are of normal size, in which 3 of them would need to sacrifice some under-thigh support.

Dont know about price hikes but I know you can get the Toyota early if you have a good rapport with the Toyota dealer. I know somebody who thought of getting a Hycross last week and got it yesterday. MAGIC!!

So I guess guys looking for a quick delivery should start polishing their PR skills.

Also, it might just be a rumour but I heard that if you are willing to pay an extra 5-6L you might get the delivery of the "T" badge earlier.

Re: Maruti Invicto Review

I had booked the Invicto online before launch but am not interested in buying it. If someone would like to take my booking, its with Sai Service Mumbai. DM me so I can pass it on to you. They have been following up with me on this.

Re: Maruti Invicto Review

Has anyone taken delivery of the Invicto. I am yet to see an Invicto on the road. It seems people in general are staying away from Invicto and prefer to pay a premium and even wait longer for the Hycross.

I cancelled my booking for the Invicto since i got delivery of the Hycross. The prospects doesn't seem too good for the Invicto

Looks like customer deliveries are yet to begin. Haven't seen even a single delivery video/photo on any of the social media platforms.

If 24L rupee Grand Vitara top end could find takers, Invicto too should find few takers for the Zeta+ variant at 6L more.

I was offered delivery more than 2 weeks back and my car had arrived at the dealership but i declined as my Hycross had arrived. They requested me if i could find someone. I offered to my uncle who was also looking for a Hycross but he refused. So cars have definitely arrived at dealerships.

I know of a few other Hycross booking holders who refused Invicto for whatever reasons

Re: Maruti Invicto Review

Unless one needs a car urgently for whatever reason, buy a toyota hybrid powertrain vehicle from toyota and a suzuki powertrain vehicle from maruti/toyota. Till about when maruti service centers get enough exposure working with and maintaining toyota hybrid powertrain vehicles when ___ hits the fan.

Re: Maruti Invicto Review

I got my Invicto ZETA+ delivery last week. I had a pending Hycross booking since the last 5 months but was not able to get a 8STR Hycross.
Invicto got delivered pretty quickly hence I went ahead with it.

Re: Maruti Invicto Review

Maruti Suzuki's Invicto opens its account in the July sales chart. (Deliveries started in late July)

Grabs 1.4% market share in the Hybrid segment.

Hycross is touching almost 40, Invicto is priced at what Hycross was retailing at just 2-3 months ago, a 40 lakh Innova is very hard to digest, but I guess I will find this price to be value for money in about 12-18 months when Innvova retails at 50 lakhs

Is the bubble ever going to burst? I hope so, slow down in sales is needed to rationalize taxes and force manufacturers to be more reasonable, we cant afford this kind of an upward trend on automobile and real estate prices, incomes havent risen as much!

Re: Maruti Invicto Review

Hi All

I have taken delivery of the Maruti Invicto Zeta + 8 seater variant on 29th July 2023. I had booked an Innova Hycross VX (O) option in March of this year and had no signs of delivery. When the Invicto option came I was convinced to go for it. Fortunately for me I did not book in the pre-book period and did after that. Most of the people who booked in the pre book period had booked the Alpha + variant and colours other than silver. The service advisor was excellent and told me that if I wanted early delivery I have to book the Silver colour Zeta + variant 8 seater which suited my requirements. Booked it and got delivery within a week (understand I am the third in the country to get delivery).

The reasons I opted for Invicto is as below:

1. This is essentially a Toyota rebadged as Suzuki, so there were no worries about safety or build quality.
2. Early deliveery.
3. I hate sunroof (being in Chennai) and therefore the Zeta + perfectly suited as it had 8 airbags as opposed to Hycross VX which only had 2.
4. Of the things the invicto does not have only two bothered me.
Wheel arch cladding - Added it as accessory
Panoramic Sunroof - Absolutely no issue as I think it is useless for a city like Chennai (I have in two other cars and have never opened it more than twice a year and in one had seepage issues)
Soft door touch trim - The car has a soft door touch not sure if I was missing anythng.
Leatherette seats - Putting a seat cover so no issue
Powered tailgate - Not important to me.
Ventilated seats - This is another feature which I dont think makes sense when all other parts of the car are hot, so dont mind
Power adjustable seats - I miss this but not a deal breaker
Wireless apple carplay / Android auto - No issue
TPMS - In my humble view absolute waste
Rear Seatbelts reminder - No issue
360° camera - One thing I really miss.
Front and rear parking sensors - Not at all Ok but have ordered rear parking sensors as accessory, they are checking if the front parking sensors can be added..
Rear window defogger - No issue for me
Anti theft security system - The dealer told me that they had replaced this with Maruti Suzuki's own feature, still have to figure out what it is.
Some remote operations - Ok
5. Price - The overall on road cost for me for the Zeta+ variant was Rs.30.7 lakhs (including some accessories). This is around 6 lakhs cheaper than the Hycross VX+ variant. Even if you compare to the VX variant there is a cost saving, ex showroom price 25K cheaper, insurance 60K cheaper (I paid only 71K as insurance as compared to 130K which Toyota asked), extended warranty - 5K cheaper = Total saving 80K.
6.

Initial driving impressions (300kms) including two small out of city trips with one having 8 full adults:

Pros
1. Exact same drive experience as Hycross. Smooth to start and easy to drive. You have to get used to the silence when starting on batteery. No lag even with a full load of 8 occupants.
2. Mileage is around 15-16kmpl with a mix of city and out of city in normal driving mode.
3. The hybrid system takes over the moment you take your foot off the pedal and in slow speed situations.
4. You can feel the enging starting though it is not noisy.
5. AC is excellent. Thank God I did not have the sunroof as the temperature inside after parking it in the sun was 45C.
6. Steering is light but i felt was very thin.
6. Seats are comfortable even for 8 full grown adults with enough leg and headroom in the third row.
7. The engine is powerful and helps accelerate quickly when needed to overtake.
8. The external look is nice (I had thought that the big chrome lines will make it ugly). I like the three dot treatment in the front headlamps and the rear tail lights.
9. Lots of storage spaces. 1 litre bottles fit very well.
10. They have given both Type A and C usb ports in the front, though it is only type c in the rear.
11. Service is only once a year or 10000km which ever is earlier. Have never had this for a petrol engine car.

Cons
1. It is huge so have to be careful, navigating tight spaces is a challenge without the 360 camera.
2. Door look/unlock switch on the driver side did not have backlighting (not sure if it is a feature miss or build issue).
3. Lack of accessories. They dealer did not even have floor mats.
4. They did not make use of the MID well. You have to toggle between so many screens to get data. Eg the main display does not show battery current capacity, still trying to figure out how to auto unlock doors after parking etc.
5. Minor issues like rear reading lamp not working.
6. Maruti fixation of accesories. Already the rear tail plate housing and tail lamp garnish are coming off. The fender garnish was pasted on the top of the rear tyre than the front, I have the dashcam fixed but the dealer cannot give me the app link etc. The dealer has promised to fix all of this when fixing other accesories.
7. The ECO mode is not good as it reduces the AC.
8. The height (to get in/out) is a challenge for slightly older people. Have ordered a step.
9. The 8 inch infotainment system and rear camera is very poor quality. The only good thing about the rear camera is its wide angle.
10. After every drive it analyses your driving skills. It is initially fun but every time it finds a fault, the best score I have got is 92.
11. They have made it look like a puffed up grand vitara.

Will post some pictures soon.
